The Christian Performing Arts Centre is proud to present the new theatrical production titled The Nativity Musical. This spectacular Christmas musical is a fast-paced, comedic rendition of the classic Christmas story that is sure to please and delight audiences of all ages!   The Nativity Musical is filled with modern and energetic arrangements of familiar Christmas Carols, which tell the story of Christ’s birth in an original and highly entertaining way.  This year’s production features an incredible cast of over sixty actors, singers, and dancers; dazzling lights; sensational scenery and special effects; and a live orchestra that will take your breath away! BLACK NATIVITY: HOME FOR CHRISTMAS  Written, Directed & Choreographed by Andre Anthony Music Direction by Rev. Gaius Ponto Based on the Broadway production by Langston Hughes & the screenplay by Kasi Lemmons Music by Various Artists    Black Nativity: Home for Christmas   is a retelling of the classic Nativity story performed by a black gospel church. Langston, a Toronto teen raised by his single mother Naima, travels to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged grandparents, Rev. John Cobbs and his wife, Aretha. Rev. Cobbs’ church is doing a production of Black Nativity and Langston finds himself in the lead role. However, Langston soon finds that Rev. Cobbs has strict rules, and the youth is unwilling to follow them. Instead, he sets out on a return journey back home to his mother and finds the value of faith, healing and family along the way.
